The Department of Labour and skills, Government of Kerala, has been imparting various programmes in skill development with the objective of upgrading Government ITIs to international standards by introducing new technologies, providing modern machinery and developing infrastructure.

The Government of Kerala has also been focusing on organizing new programmes for providing placement to the National Trade Certificate (NTC), State Trade Certificate (STC) and National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) holders.
